At Lewin, the Federal National Security and Emergency Preparedness Practice helps federal agencies develop and implement new programs and evaluate existing policies for military personnel, veterans, and citizens in natural disasters. The NSEP team provides research and consulting support in specific areas including program evaluation, statistical and economic analysis, predictive modeling and strategic planning, policy research and payment strategy.


 


As a Consultant within the Lewin's National Security and Emergency Preparedness Practice, you will contribute to the success of Federal projects through the analysis, synthesis, and interpretation of healthcare data into solution based recommendations.  Additionally, you will direct and large tasks or a series of smaller projects, ensuring that all tasks and/or projects are conducted with sound analytical methods and techniques. As a Consultant, you will manage projects that will include conducting research and analysis in the specific content area of Federal programs, Medicare, and/or Medicaid claims data analytics requiring advanced modeling and analytical methods for looking at problems and analyzing solutions. 


 


Key responsibilities include:



  • Overseeing and guiding project research and analytics including but not limited to Medicare/Medicaid claims data analytics and advanced modeling and analytical techniques

  • Interpretation of research and data analytics into practical answers to broader policy questions as they relate to the specific content area

  • Directing and managing large projects or a series of smaller projects

  • Responsibility for project budget management, deliverables, client relations, and staff supervision

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in a highly quantitative discipline (i.e. Math, Statistics, Economics, or the like) with 6+ years of post-graduate experience

  • 3+ years of academic and/or professional experience in SAS Programming

  • Expertise in quantitative and analytical problem solving and/or modeling  methodologies and their applications to research questions

  • Expertise in any of the following areas: policy analysis, program evaluation, program integrity, informatics, strategic planning and process improvement

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's degree with 3+ years of experience and/or PhD with experience in Healthcare

  • Experience analyzing Medicare and/or Medicaid claims data
