About this job
Sodexo is seeking a Registered Dietitian with ideally 2 or more years of experience to come join our team at Westchester Medical Center, a 450-bed tertiary care trauma center with a children's hospital, behavioral health center and outpatient clinics.
Position will report to Clinical Nutrition Manager and ideal candidate will:
Cover primarily adult critical care units (heart transplant), vent unit and cardiac ICU
Attend interdisciplinary team care meetings, rounds, etc.
Provide training to facility staff in concepts of clinical nutrition and nutrition support
Educate patients and family members in nutrition and diet modifications
Participate in Quality Improvement projects
Cover of all inpatient areas (adult and pediatrics) every 6th weekend, including ICU’s
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good time-management and organizational skills with an emphasis on efficiency
Be a self-starter and act as liaison between the department and the client
Having the Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) and/or Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) credential are preferred, but not required

Provides comprehensive nutrition assessments and care planning for patients/residents. Plans special diets and supervises their preparation. Instructs patients/residents and/or hospital personnel in principles of nutrition and modifications of normal diet. Performs routine care responsibilities without training and direction.
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree
Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in health care including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics + registered dietitian.
Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
