Category Manager, Store Brands Beauty - Full-time / Part-time

Store Brands Category Managers are the business owners of their categories: they have the full scope of responsibility for attaining budgeted sales, gross margin, Front Store penetration goals, GMROII and building market share within their categories. The position operates within the Merchandising area and will collaborate with the Support Team for their business including Pricing, Promotion Assistants, Merchandise Planners, Inventory Planners, Financial Planners, Store Operations and Category Planogram Designers to achieve the Merchandising objectives as it relates to the CVS Strategic plan.

A Category Manager is responsible for searching out new, competitive opportunities at CVS within the assigned categories and driving the business to ensure an industry leading position for CVS. Assists in the development Annual Category Business Plans 1-3-5 years out

• Responsible for the tactical execution of marketing plans for i.e., weekly, seasonal and annual merchandising programs ; Converts merchandising strategies into operational plans

• Adhering to quantitative responsibilities in sales, gross margin and GMROII

• Maintaining positive trade relations and developing strategic alliances

• Attentive to competitive trends including competitive store visits

• Developing and implementing promotional strategies

• Optimizing SKU mix, sales and gross margin and the achievement of sales and gross margin budgets for the category as it relates to the strategic plan

• Participates in the Category Review Process

• Improving the CVS Store Brands experience for our customers

• Partners cross functionally to ensure results

Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree

• 6+ years experience in a retail or consumer goods organization –or consulting role to companies in these sectors - in a strategy, merchandising, category management or store brand position, with team management experience

• Experience in developing product, brand or category strategies, vendor and product negotiations, item and promotional pricing along with assortment selection

• Ability to execute and drive results, working with and influencing cross-functional teams

• Demonstrated capability to lead, develop and motivate high-performing teams

• Strong communication (written and oral) and presentation skills

• Must be a business leader and a calculated risk taker

Preferred Qualifications MBA degree from leading business school preferred

• Experience in Retail Store Operations
