Summary of Position:   
The Guest Service Assistant primarily assists the servers with food delivery and filling our guests’ needs. The GSA will deliver the food to the appropriate table, ensure that the guests have everything they need for a wonderful meal experience and respond quickly to any need or concern. The GSA will be scheduled according to volume and must be approved by the DM.

Essential Job Functions

  • ƒPrimary focus is to assist servers in delivering hot and fresh food to our guests to ensure the best dining experience
  • ƒReceives food from the manager or culinary assistant and delivers the meal to the guests’ table quickly and accurately
  • ƒAssists servers with running sidework to give them the support necessary to provide excellent service to our guests
  • ƒClosely inspects all food before they run it out to the table to ensure our guests receive food that meets Cheddar’s standards
  • ƒMust know the pivot point system and use it when delivering all meals to tables
  • ƒAssists servers in pre‐bussing tables and ensuring that all guests’ needs are met throughout their dining experience
  • ƒMust arrive to work on time, well‐groomed and in clean and pressed attire according to Cheddar’s FOH dress and appearance standards
  • ƒMaintains the highest sanitation standards during the shift including washing hands frequently and ensuring that all food is served at proper temperature

Requirements:

  • ƒMust have the ability to learn the Cheddar’s menu in order to answer guests’ questions and make outstanding suggestions
  • Must have knowledge of alcoholic service laws and standards
  • Must be legal age to serve alcohol based on state mandated guidelines
  • Must have a good knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions
  • Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money in order to quickly and accurately make change for the guests and to accurately perform cash out at the end of the shift
  • Must be able to operate a point-of-sale system
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
  • Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 30 pounds
  • Be able to bend and reach as necessary during the shift
  • No visible tattoos are allowed
  • Must practice high sanitary standards including washing hands frequently
