JOB SUMMARY
The Director is the designated nurse leader responsible for providing leadership and direction for Surgical Services of the Operating Room (OR), Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU, Come & Go Unit (CGU), and Endoscopy (GI Services). Directs safe patient care in this high-risk and highly regulated environment, coordinating these services with the rest of the Hospital.
REQUIREMENTS
Must have at least ten years nursing experience, including at least five years in a surgical setting. Minimum five years leadership experience, at least three of which must be in a complex Surgical setting. BA required. Experience in or ability to learn and adapt quickly to unionized healthcare environment. Must have a current CA RN license, AHA BLS certification.
Five years Director-level experience in a comparable Surgical setting preferred. BSN, Masters in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field strongly preferred. One year experience in unionized environment, including disciplinary and other corrective actions preferred.
