About this job

We have a full-time/part-time opening for a Civil EIT.

Must be able to work various shifts per week.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform a variety of Civil Engineering with emphasis on transportation projects, including design of grading, utilities, storm drainage facilities, roadways, airport facilities, trails, and other related items.
Apply standard engineering techniques, standards and criteria.
Use engineering judgment and make minor adaptations as required for task completion.
Under direct supervision, perform or assist in performing studies, calculation, designs, and the preparation of reports, plans and specifications.
Perform a variety of construction inspection and documentation duties on roadway, aviation, and utility projects.
Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Experience with MicroStation/InRoads and AutoCAD/Civil3D required
ACHD and ITD project experience a plus.
Experience with GIS and Esri software a plus.
3D modeling experience a plus.
Office responsibilities could include 3D surface modeling and design drafting.
Perform additional duties/assignments related to projects as required.
Availability to occasionally work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
A working knowledge of Microsoft products such as Word and Excel required.
In depth knowledge of construction plans including plan and profile development, grading and drainage.
Knowledge of principals of design and construction for utilities, infrastructure and roads.
Ability to independently perform assignments with broad generalized instruction from professional staff.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrates best practices techniques and a willingness to learn.
Attendance, punctuality and reliability required.
Occasional overnight travel may be required average once every 3 months.
Desire to obtain future professional licensure is preferred.


MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
BSCE and EIT certification required
0 - 2 years engineering experience in general civil engineering design; roadway, aviation, construction administration/inspection, grading and drainage design a plus.
Must have working knowledge producing 3D models with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
ACHD and ITD project experience a plus.
Experience with GIS and Esri software a plus.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or Microstation and Inroads
Technical writing and strong communication skills (both oral and written) required
Candidate must possess a valid Idaho State Drivers License; must be able to meet company insurability requirements.
Must be willing to travel occasionally.
