HERC is one of the largest and most diversified equipment rental businesses in the world with approximately 335 branches in the United States, Canada, France, Spain, China and Saudi Arabia, as well as through international franchisees. HERC, which has one of the youngest and most balanced fleets in the industry, rents a broad range of equipment, including aerial manlifts, air compressors and tools, earthmoving equipment and power generators, forklifts and material handling, pumps, and trucks and trailers. HERC also derives revenues from the sale of new and used equipment and consumables as well as through its Hertz Entertainment Services division, which rents lighting and related aerial products used primarily in the U.S. entertainment industry.

HERC had annual revenues of over $1.5 billion in 2013, with 38% of its 2013 revenues derived from the construction market, 26% from industrial, 36% from other markets including oil and gas, and from other specialty niche markets, such as pump and power, government services, and the entertainment industry. Following the recent announcement that Hertz intends to spin off the equipment rental group the company is looking to form a brand new indirect sourcing team to support the spin-off company. This position will reside in that newly created group

General Responsibilities:

Sourcing Manager, Operations – North America reporting to the Director of Strategic Sourcing.

Job Purpose:

Design and execute a sourcing strategy for the HERC North America Operations category, working directly with business stakeholders and other team members to deliver continuous cost, performance and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and execute Operations sourcing projects (logistics, equipment parts, facilities supplies and programs, operations support, chemicals, fuel, capital equipment, furniture, signage, etc.) to include; strategy development, preparation of RFP’s, supplier negotiations, business case recommendations, project management and contract execution Working collaboratively with business stakeholders and other team members identify & implement cost and process improvements within the HERC Operations sourcing process. Manage and measure supplier performance against contract (cost, service levels and usage), manage supplier performance issues, one off and systemic Continuously assess market conditions to assess Operations industry cost curves and trends as they impact HERC buy.

Mandatory Requirements:

Educational Background:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, MBA preferred Professional Qualifications CPSM, CIPS, 6Sigma preferred Professional Experience:

3-5 years of professional services sourcing experience with a Fortune 500 company, a large service sector company or a large industrial manufacturing company 3-5 years of sourcing projects (logistics, equipment parts, facilities supplies and programs, operations support, chemicals, fuel, capital equipment, furniture, signage, etc.) Experience in designing & executing sourcing strategies that consistently deliver measureable bottom line cost savings Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organizing/time management and problem solving skills Experienced negotiator, experience with negotiating agreements and contract terms Knowledge:

Knowledge of key Operations categories under responsibility. Well developed knowledge of sourcing or category management processes Working knowledge of technology contracts, risks and mitigation techniques
