Fleet Mechanic II

The Fleet Mechanic II will perform scheduled preventative maintenance and necessary repairs to automobiles, trucks (light and heavy), trailers, vans and forklifts as directed by Fleet Manager.

Position Shift and Schedule

This is a full time permanent position working on our afternoon shift. The shift will start between 12:00pm an 1:00pm. Flexibility to work overtime and weekends is required based on business needs.

Position Responsibilities

1. Meet the maintenance demands of the Sales and Supply Chain functions and perform quality work at the lowest cost to minimize equipment downtime.
2. Maintain, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on all fleet equipment.
3. Diagnose vehicle failures and disassemble, repair, and reassemble parts as necessary.

7. Minor engine work
8. Engine electronics
9. Suspension
10. Chassis/frame
11. Brakes
12. Drive train
13. Heating and A/C
14. Hydraulics
15. Cab and body
16. Welding and fabrication
17. Respond to service calls and pick up and deliver vehicles.
18. Operate in a safe, well organized, and clean work environment (must be able to tolerate hot and cold temperatures depending on the season).
19. Input data accurately and in a timely manner in to the DPS fleet maintenance software program (SAP EAM).
20. Maintain records of daily check list (pre-trip inspections) and complete all necessary documentation, including vehicle records.
21. Order and inventory parts.
22. Adhere to OSHA, DOT and EPA regulatory compliance standards.
23. The training and experience that comes from the following certifications will be utilized as part of the position responsibilities and will be required to achieve within the first year of employment with Dr Pepper Snapple Group:
24. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification for maintenance and inspection program
25. DOT Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A)
26. DOT brake and annual inspection certification
27. A/C Certification
28. Forklift Operator License

• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
• Valid driver’s license
• 2 years of technical training or 2 years of mechanic experience on fleet equipment
• Able to supply own set of tools
• Willing and able to acquire the necessary certifications and licenses needed for the position within the first year of employment to include: ASE certification, DOT Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A), DOT brake and annual inspection certification, A/C certification, and Forklift Operator License
