The Director of ExtraCare Analytics is a newly created role in the Relationship Marketing Department that will be responsible for setting the strategy, providing leadership to and managing our growing ExtraCare Loyalty Analytics team. This role will work closely with business partners in merchandising, pricing, marketing, promotions, strategy, IT, store operations, finance and media. The role requires the ability to develop the strategic vision for ExtraCare analytics and then lead the implementation of this vision, understand business partner’s needs and deliver actionable insights to address those needs and lead the day to day activities of the analytics team. This will require the ability to multi-task multiple requests, quickly assemble data, generate insights and deliver impactful presentations in a fast-paced environment. The Senior Director will need to work closely with stakeholders to ensure sound knowledge of client objectives and customer insight, to subsequently design breakthrough solutions.

Responsibilities for the Director of ExtraCare Analytics include but are not limited to:

• Determine and implement strategic vision for ExtraCare Analytics

• Set direction and lead the current ExtraCare analytical team of 2 managers and 6 analysts

• Grow the analytics team to support future needs

• Develop and coach analytical talent

• Collaborate with business partners to deliver insights to support their needs

• Build out team’s predictive analytics capabilities

• Derive insights into customer behavior through analysis of data

• Understand and run complex test vs. control analysis

• Build out experimental design to support continued evolution of ExtraCare program

• Build and manage relationships with external vendors

• Create and deliver presentations to management

• Demonstrate enthusiasm for delivering business results Required Qualifications:

passion for the retail/consumer industry with 10+ years in an analytical role, ideally in retail or customer loyalty

• Strong leadership skills with a history of managing and developing talent

• Results driven, with a desire to work in a fast paced environment with the ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple concurrent initiatives that have significant financial impact

• Strong analytic capabilities that can turn data into impactful insights

• Highly proficient use of SQL for extraction and manipulation of data

• Impeccable communications skills, ability to influence via formal presentations & informal interactions at all levels of the organization. Keen ability to distill complex ideas into simpler frameworks and illustrations.

• Working knowledge of statistics, sampling techniques and analysis of covariation (ANCOVA).

• Master’s degree or equivalent in statistics or similar field

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a numerate subject e.g. Statistics, Math, Physics, Economics etc Preferred Qualifications:

General understanding of linear regression, factor analysis, logistic regression, generalized linear models, tree models (CART, MART), data visualization, cluster analysis or related models required. Practical application of these techniques in a retail/loyalty marketing setting preferred.

• Preferred to have working knowledge of some of the following: SAS, Tableau, Aster, Hadoop Education:

Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, quantitative economics or related field
