The Senior Manager is a member of a team that is responsible for managing PepsiCo's (PEP) global pension assets of approximately $23 billion. The role supports the US, UK, CAD, NL MEX and Irish pension plans by developing innovative financial solutions to quantify and mitigate the growing financial risk of PEP's pension plans. The ability to succeed in this position will depend on the candidates ability to lead and co-ordinate projects with internal and external resources including HR, Legal, Control and External Investment Managers, Trustees and Actuaries.
Leverage global scale to create efficiencies in processes and reduce costs
Develop, analyze and implement new investment strategies both domestically and internationally. Prepare analysis and recommendation to senior management and the PepsiCo Investment Committee
Lead Treasury initiatives to harmonize investment strategies across global plans
Lead the due diligence effort of certain manager searches and manager monitoring activities for the US and CAD pension plans.
Prepare scorecard to manage risk in year-end assumptions pertaining to expected return on assets, discount rate and cost of living assumptions. Work with external suppliers to deliver monthly and annual reporting on these financial metrics
Lead initiatives for new regulatory requirements e.g. EMIR, Dodd Frank, ERISA, DOL. Manage the reporting process requirements coordinating with internal and external legal counsel, investment managers and local staff to ensure PepsiCo requirements are being met
Research and apply cutting edge portfolio construction and risk management tools and processes on an on-going basis to identify and optimize risk/return trade-offs embedded within the investment strategy and asset allocation
Complete ad hoc projects which impact the overall portfolio
Provide guidance and mentoring to investment analysts
Qualification/Requirements:
MBA and or CFA preferred
Bachelor's degree (Finance/Accounting/Economics)
8+ years of investment experience. Prefer corporate pension, foundation, endowment or investment management firm experience
Proven track record of completing complex analysis under tight deadlines
Ability to work on a relatively small team with a flat organizational structure
Must be proactive
Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Advanced knowledge of public and private market equities, fixed income and alternatives. Current working knowledge of retirement trends and the capital markets
Proficient in Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Bloomberg is preferred
