UnitedHealthcare, part of the UnitedHealth Group family of companies, is seeking a Product Development/State Filing Compliance Analyst to join its Financial Protection Services team in Hartford, CT.  This is an exciting opportunity to join our expanding business supporting our Group Life, Group Disability, Group Critical Illness, and Group Accident Protection products.  The Analyst will prepare product form and rate filings, monitors changes to laws and regulations to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, regulations and mandates.


 


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Develop/Manage product form and rate filings via the SERFF (System for Electronic Rate and Form Filing) and iFile systems

  • Negotiate approvals directly with State Regulators

  • Monitor changes to laws and regulations to ensure compliance with State & Federal laws, regulations and mandates

  • Work with business partners to implement approvals

  • Conduct state-specific legal research and monitor changes to requirements to mitigate risks and achieve compliance

  • Establish and implement standard policies, procedures, processes and best practices across UHG to promote compliance with applicable laws and contractual obligations

  • Support the collection of data for regulatory filings, coordinate and develop reports, projects and assessment tools to verify compliance

  • Develop compliance communications and drive problem resolution for a business

  • Work is self-directed and not prescribed

  • Works with less structured, more complex issues

  • Serve as a resource to others

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience

  • 2+ years of experience in a product development/state filing/compliance role related to the insurance industry

  • Experience using SERFF (System for Electronic Rate and Form Filing)

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

  • Candidate must be highly organized with effective time management skills

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills required; ability to exercise good judgment

  • Function independently and with little day-to-day work direction

  • Intermediate or better level of proficiency with MS Office
