Primary Responsibilities:



  • Investigating, recovering and resolving all types of claim overpayments.


  • Initiating telephone calls to members, providers and other insurance companies to gather data.


  • Initiate recovery letters, manage monthly reports to insure timely completion.


  • Process in-coming correspondence, phone calls and monies.


  • Interact with coworkers from other departments to resolve recovery issues.


  • Responsible for monitoring daily work flow, maintaining production, performance and quality standards.


  • Perform job functions with a high degree of discretion and confidentiality in compliance with Federal, Department, and Company confidentiality guidelines.


  • Provide expertise claims support by reviewing, researching, investigating, negotiating and resolving all types of claims as well as recovery and resolution for health plans, commercial customers and government entities.


  • Analyze and identify trends and provides reports as necessary


  • Ensure adherence to state and federal compliance policies, reimbursement policies and contract compliance

Requirements

Requirements:



  • High School Diploma / GED


  • 1 + year of experience in collections, billing or payment of medical claims


  • Intermediate 10-Key and typing skills


  • Basic proficiency with Word, Access and Excel


  • Basic knowledge of insurance and medical terminology


  • Basic knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations applicable to claims recovery

     

Assets:



  • 1 + year of accounting/bookkeeping experience

Soft Skills:



  • Must be organized and detail oriented.


  • Good written and oral communication skills required.


  • Business appropriate interpersonal skills and telephone manners required
