Business Process Consultant - Minnetonka ONLY - Full-time / Part-time

UnitedHealthcare Medicare & Retirement (UHMR) Pharmacy Program Management, Oversight and Monitoring team provides pharmacy benefit operations services, formulary and clinical operations services, and is responsible for executing oversight and monitoring activities of UHMR's first-tier, downstream and related entities (FDR).  The Pharmacy Management team's primarily focus relates to UHMR's pharmacy benefit management (PBM) services provided by OptumRx.  UHMR is a family of UnitedHealth Group businesses dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Americans ages 50 and older.

UHMR Pharmacy Program Management, Oversight and Monitoring is searching for a candidate with experience in business process consulting, analysis and improvement in a Pharmacy Benefit Management or Health Plan setting, to join our team as the Senior Business Process Consultant in Minnetonka, MN.  In this growth-oriented role, you will report to the Senior Director, Pharmacy Program Management, Oversight and Monitoring and play a key role in building the capabilities of the Project Services team.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide project support and guidance for development, assessment, and implementation of key business process and programs to support the UHMR pharmacy business


• Lead and/or support the business process analysis and consulting activities for projects


• Gather and develop requirements for process controls, reporting, monitoring, and efficiency


• Apply an analytical approach and techniques to problem solving for Pharmacy Program Management, Oversight and Monitoring and PBM oversight projects and process enhancements


• Collaborate cross-functionally and with inter-segment partners, including OptumRx, to ensure end-to-end solutions meet regulatory, compliance, audit, and pharmacy business objectives


• Sustain and administer the PBM Demand Management business processes and underlying SharePoint-based technical infrastructure


• Lead PBM Demand Management process enhancement and expansion, including requirements gathering, proof of concept development, test and implementation

Required Qualifications:

• BA/BS in business or a related field or equivalent education and/or work experience


• 3+ years of experience in business analysis and business process analysis


• 3+ years of experience implementing new business processes and requirements


• 3+ years of experience in healthcare/pharmacy related field, preferably pharmacy benefit management


• Ability to build strong business relationships and influence change across organizational lines


• Proven technical aptitude


• Advanced experience with Microsoft Product Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, Project)


• Excellent interpersonal skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• 3+ years of experience in pharmacy benefit management


• Knowledge of Medicare Part D products
