Senior Registered Nurse Supervisor

Salary: $1,840.00 Bi weekly

Minimum Requirements:

Successful Completion of a Level II Background Screening and Drug Screening.

Must possess a current Registered Nurse license, with 1 to 3 years' experience.

Must have at least 1 year in a long term care facility.

Must be willing to working and holidays.

Shift is 2:45 AM TO 11:15 PM

Must work every other weekend

Experience in a supervisory role as an RN in a long-term care facility.

Experience in caring for dementia patients.

Current Certification in basic life support (CPR).

Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Supervise and direct nursing personnel on an assigned shift. Ensure that the nursing personnel are following their job descriptions and that the residents are receiving total nursing care. Complete monthly schedules. Review shift assignments and assure that the assignments reflect the ability of the staff person to meet the specific nursing care needs of the residents. Ensure that work assignments are written, dated and posted. Receive notices of absences from personnel, based on the master staffing plan; ensure that a sufficient number of licensed nurses and CNA'S are scheduled for the next shift. Notify Administrator and/or DON of any emergency situations in the building. Will also be required to fill in during staff shortages as a Floor Nurse. Make daily rounds to observe residents and to determine if nursing needs are being met. See all residents at a minimum of one time during an eight hour shift. Observe all nursing staff giving care at least one time during an eight hour shift.

This position will also require incumbent to work during shortage of nursing staff and perform the medication pass, and to work required duties as a floor nurse. Prefer incumbent to have previous work experience in a long term care setting.

Review and follow up incidents and/or complaints occurring on assigned tour of duty. Complete written forms and forward to DON. Ensure that all verbal, including telephone orders from attending physicians are received by a registered nurse. If not RN is available, receive all telephone orders from attending physicians. No more than two (2) valid, sustained complaints during each review period. Will give Basic Life Support (CPR) when necessary.

Maintain the standards of nursing care and implement the policies and procedures of the facility and nursing department. Follow all local, state, federal rules and regulations. Comply and perform within the scope of practice as defined by the Florida Nursing Practice Act. Assist in review of policies and procedures. Ensure that reference material at the nurses' stations is current. Make recommendations to DON for improved and/or additional items. Check policies and procedures and reference materials with requested by DON or RN Consultant.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

This occupation requires licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with Chapter 464, Florida Statutes or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 210-8.22 or 8.27 or Certification as a Physician's Assistant in accordance with Chapter 458, Florida Statutes.
