Del Amo Hospital is a 166-bed free-standing psychiatric hospital that is located in the South Bay area of Los Angeles, in beautiful Southern California. We currently have Per Diem positions available for Clinical Social Workers.
Del Amo Hospital provides a full spectrum of quality mental health care that includes: assessments and referrals, crisis intervention, adolescent and adult services, as well as specialty programs. The Clinical Social Worker assists in the integration of social services functions in the patient care, discharge planning and aftercare planning process with other hospital departments, external service organizations, agencies and health care facilities. The Clinical Social Worker provides direct care to patients as appropriate and ensures compliance with quality patient care and regulatory standards. The Clinical Social Worker assists patients and their families through the use of psychotherapeutic skills to understand, identify and resolve complex problems resulting from psychiatric illnesses utilizing group and individual therapies.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Conduct psychosocial assessments within 72 hours.
Provide individual therapy.
Provide social work consultation to physicians, nurses, other hospital staff members, patients, patient's relatives and coordinates with community agencies upon requests and in coordination with assigned social worker.
Complete clinical paperwork and clerical duties as assigned assist the Clinical Director/Assistant Clinical Director/Social Work Supervisor in administrative functions as assigned.
Participates in hospital in-service education programs to integrate social work with other hospital departments.
Maintains statistical report of services provided.
Attend appropriate meetings, workshops, and conferences to maintain social work skills and keep informed of community resources available.
Provide discharge planning services and arrange for post-hospital care of patients through external services as requested.
Lead and/or c o-lead group therapy on assigned hospital units.
Provide clinical services and assessments as assigned.
Del Amo Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission and is licensed by the State of California Department of Health Services. Del Amo Hospital is owned, managed and operated by a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc., one of the largest providers of high-quality healthcare in the nation.
Education:
Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field.
Credentials:
Licensure by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an LCSW, or ACSW preferred
required if providing services for the Partial Hospitalization/Outpatient Services Department.
Experience:
Previous placement or internship in a psychiatric setting preferred.
