Arrowhead Behavioral Health currently has a FULL-TIME NIGHT SHIFT RN position available. The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:
Complies with all patient care policies and procedures of Arrowhead Behavioral Health
Maintains time and attendance in accordance with Arrowhead Behavioral Health Human Resource policies.
Directs, delegates and/or provides direct patient care to assigned patients, assisting team members as needed.
Conducts an Admission Nursing Assessment on assigned new admissions, completing all paperwork required to complete the assessment process. Assists team members in completing assessments as needed.
Provides education to patients on medications and any treatment related issues.
Explains procedures and treatments to patients to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension.
Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with established policies, via approved nursing techniques.
Prepares equipment and assists physician during treatment and examination of patients as needed/requested by MD.
Assesses patients throughout their assigned shift to assure comfort and safety needs of patient are being met.
Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of any change in patient's condition, adverse reaction to drugs, treatments, and/or significant incidents.
Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient. At minimum reviews vital signs documented by ancillary staff.
Evaluates patient's response to nursing care within the treatment goals and documents those responses in the clinical records.
Responds to codes based upon nursing standards, facility policies, procedures, and protocol. Leads seclusion and/or restraint situations.
Participates actively and constructively as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team, assuring patients' needs are known and addressed and comprehensive plans of care may be developed incorporating that information.
Initiates treatment plans according to the individualized needs of the patient, as determined by the multidisciplinary treatment team and/or hospital policy including patient and family education.
Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities as directed by Director of Nursing or designate.
Accepts assessment calls as needed, documenting as thoroughly as possible appropriate information on the Call-Sheets.
Conducts the Admission Bio-Social assessment when needed as determined by staffing requirements.
Other duties may be assigned.
Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or BSN
Licensure: Current and Valid State of Ohio RN License
Previous experience in a mental health or substance abuse treatment facility preferred.
