The Staff Physical Therapist Assistant functions under the general supervision of the supervisor of physical medicine and under the direct supervision of the therapist responsible for a specific patient's care. The staff physical therapist assistant assumes the responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients and provides physical therapy modalities, treatment procedures, and wound care, including the application of topical medications, as determined by a treatment plan established by a physical therapist and in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures maintaining the highest degree of quality patient care.
