3M is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the Electronics and Energy Business Group located in Chelmsford, MA. Ready to be part of what's next?
Job Summary :
The person hired for the position will perform maintenance assignments as required to support Heat Shrink Tubing manufacturing operations.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform maintenance tasks and projects; including Emergency, Corrective, and Preventative
- Provide troubleshooting support of quality and processing issues
- Willingness to learn new skills and complete training as needed
- Perform all operations in a safe manner and follow all safety rules. Report any EHS related issues
- Observe equipment and report malfunctions or safety hazards to appropriate personnel as needed
- Participate in EHS incident investigations
- Participate on plant safety team
- Support stockroom inventory management, including stockroom inventory counts
- Removal of snow and ice from walkways and steps
- Assist with cleaning, organizing and maintaining the Maintenance Shop
- Miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned
This position will require:
- Working overtime
- Weekend work
- Working a fixed 3rd shift
This position may require:
- Working on holidays as needed
Basic Qualifications:
- Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing and/or industrial setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possess a Technical degree or higher
- Experience as Machinist
- Experience in Electrical, Systems/Process Control, Pneumatics, and/or Plumbing
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to work independently, display ingenuity and initiative, and demonstrate a positive attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
