Job Summary :
Maintenance Technician I employees must be able to diagnose basic mechanical problems, install, troubleshoot, repair, modify, and make adjustments to machines and mechanical devices used in production, laboratory, office, and utility areas.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and make standard adjustments to production and plant equipment as directed by mechanical technicians, plant engineering lead or supervisor
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks as directed by mechanical technicians, plant engineering lead or supervisor
- Perform basic machine setups, operate and test production equipment
- Read and work to the indicated accuracy, specifications and tolerances as detailed on engineering drawings, machine assembly prints, machine construction prints, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics, blueprints, sketches, equipment manuals and vendor diagrams
- Setup, operate and read precision testing and measuring instruments to the instrument manufacturer's specification and accuracy
- Apply, read, and interpret the results of mechanical and electrical testing devices to the test equipment manufacturer's specification of accuracy
- Complete required shop paperwork and use reporting system by following established procedures. Paperwork includes, but not limited to, time recording forms and records that may be required in the performance of the job or operation of the department
- Apply safe work methods when performing the job requirements in hazardous and non-hazardous environments so as to avoid personal injury, injury to co-workers or damage to company property. Report unsafe work conditions or equipment operation to supervision immediately. Observe 3M Safety Rules, 3M Guide to Conduct, and department work and safety rules
- Ability to obtain a MA State PIV M.G.L. c. 146 53 Hoisting Operator license
This position will require:
- Working overtime
- Weekend work
- Working holidays as needed
- Working short notice call in
- Working a 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift depending on shift availability
Basic Qualifications:
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED and 5 years experience in a maintenance field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two year technical degree
- Five years experience in a manufacturing environment (experience with elctro/mechanical troubleshooting, pneumatics, PLC experience, HVAC experience, Air Compressor experience, Robotics, or DI water system experience)
- Ability to obtain a MA State PIV M.G.L. c. 146 53 Hoisting Operator license
- SAP experience with work task and inventory control systems
- Basic mathematical and computer skills
- Knowledge of SPC charts, blueprints, drawings and ability to use them
