Business Unit / Department Mission

Responsible for the oversight of the Food Services Department to include product knowledge, planning, organization, absolutely safe food, and controlling all areas to maximize financial goals and profitability

Essential Functions / Process Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned as necessary

- Majority of time spent using independent judgment to make employment-related decisions, or effectively recommend such decisions, to hire, promote, transfer, discipline, suspend, discharge, reward, or otherwise engage in resolving partner-related matters

- Oversees the department including providing a safe work environment, training, developing and performance appraisals; customer service; ordering, display rotation, controlling shrink, product quality, sanitation, inventory control, work scheduling; receiving, pricing, stocking, and signing of merchandise; and financial results

- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the department

- Develop and lead a retail sales team to provide customer service at the highest level in all areas

- Effectively promote services/products to maximize sales

- Ensure highest level of quality and presentation in products and services

- Manages Partner morale and retention

- Ensures availability of seasonal items

- Orders product to maintain inventory

- Monitors department budget and payroll including product, labor, and expenses

- Builds relationships with customers and builds customer service through Partners

- Executes merchandising programs

- Maintains safety/sanitation of equipment and department

- Promote marketing and store events through powerful planning, merchandising and taking advantage of traffic

- Achieves sales goals; prepares projections/forecasts, reviews financial tracking information, addresses performance opportunities and budget discrepancies, communicates sales goals to Partners

- Achieves gross profit budget by preparing projections/forecasts, controlling inventory, managing and reducing food costs, ensuring the accuracy of invoices, managing the conversion process for perishable shrink, reducing supply usage and managing shrink

- May perform all duties of a representative or specialist as needed

- Ensures that all government and company regulations and standards for product freshness, safety, refrigeration and sanitation are met

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE preferred:

- 1-3 years experience

- Proven leadership experience in a complex environment with multiple direct reports

- Ability to oversee a high volume production team

- Ability to demonstrate personal initiative and exceptional customer service

- Ability to delegate, organize and plan effectively

- Thorough understanding of retail accounting

- Proficiency on HEB systems (XPTR, IMS, CICS2) preferred

- Excellent communication and organization skills

- Experience in ordering, inventory maintenance, and shrink control

- Ability to maintain an efficient operation, troubleshoot and report any malfunctions of equipment

- Ability to supervise, train, and cross-train staff

- Maintain sanitation standards throughout the work area

- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including opening, closing, and weekend shifts

Physical and Other Requirements

- Must be able to function in a fast-paced retail environment

- Must be able to lift and carry 80-90 pounds on regular basis up to 500 feet in distance

- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, reach overhead and side to side throughout shift

- Must possess hand/finger dexterity

- Must be able to safely maneuver around moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock

- Must be able to work in a cooler environment on a regular basis and in an extreme cold environment on an occasional basis

- The noise level is usually moderate; rarely exposed to extreme noise
