Systems Administrator 2 (ASTI / VCS Support) Job

Systems Administrator 2 (ASTI / VCS Support) needed for a one year contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Anchorage, AK.

What You'll Be Doing:

- System Administration of UNIX / Linux / NetApp virtual server environment
- Responsible for installing, upgrading, configuring and maintaining servers in accordance with established standards, policies, procedures and configuration guidelines.
- Performs software installations and upgrades to Red Hat operating systems and layered software packages and maintains them in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements.
- Uses Red Hat Network Satellite (RHNS) to manage RHEL VM deployments.
- Applies RHEL patches to stay in front of known vulnerabilities and maintain Center for Internet Security (CIS) compliance.
- Configures / manages Red Hat clusters and fencing agents.
- Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum level of performance. Ensures server data integrity by evaluating, implementing and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. Ensures data / media recover ability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
- Conducts routine hardware and software audits of servers for compliance with established standards, policies, procedures and configuration guidelines. Knowledgeable of networking associated with a LAN based server and workstations.
- Develops schedules for the installation and monitoring of local network and stand-alone information resources.
- Manages and directs proactive and reactive systems administration activities to ensure the availability, integrity, and reliability of networked and stand-alone resources.
- Monitors / manages allocated NetApp storage space assigned to each VM
- Configures / manages NetBackup backup as well as Tape Library backup policies
- Configures / manages kick start servers and CM-controlled server/package installations
- Assists in the configuration/management of 3rd party vendor infrastructure applications such as NetIQ LDAP, RSA, DNS, Sophos, Nessus, IP Control, Splunk, and CiscoPrime.
- Develop actions to reduce shortages at machine laydown and prepare "can build" optimization.
- Develop effective outsourcing plans with manufacturing and procurement.
- Ensure Bill of materials (BOM) and production routings are accurate and up to date in reflection to current practice.
- Ensure accuracy of all other ERP / MRP system data such as requirements plan, item master and cost.
- Liaise with purchasing to ensure materials are delivered in line with production requirements.
- Assist with New Product Introduction projects from a planning / material point of view.
- Actively participate in lean activities to drive improvements across the site.
- Configure, analyze and actively drive improvements on relevant key performance indicators.
- Monitor customer service through reports and drive two way communications with internal customers.
- Manage and drive inventory reduction through pull systems, inventory counts and data management.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

- BS / BA (or equivalent) in Information Technology or related field, and minimum 4 years related experience
- Understanding and or experience with the following:
- Linux and VM experience/knowledge
- Network Attached Storage
- Backup policies
- Strong listening skills
- Ability to assist and lead other teammates
- Knowledge / experience in the following is a plus:
- Splunk, NetIQ eDirectory/iManager, RSA, SourceFire, IPCOntrol, CiscoPrime, Sophos
- SOLR Database
- Experience with Red Hat clustering (LUCI / RICCI); Nessus vulnerability / compliance scanning; LDAP architecture/integration; two-factor authentication solutions, e.g. RSA
- Network troubleshooting skills (e.g. DNS, routing, ACLs, etc.)
- Knowledge of lab infrastructure
- Power requirements
- Datacenter build-out experience
- How to harden a lab
- Python scripting skills
- Red Hat certs (RHCE, RHCT, RHCSA)
