SAN Engineer - Secret Clearance Job - Full-time / Part-time

SAN Engineer needed for a contract to hire opportunity with Yoh's client located in Fort Knox, Kentucky.

Possession of or the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance is required as a condition for employment.

What You'll Be Doing:

- The prospective candidate will be responsible for supporting SAN Storage capabilities for the U.S. Army Human Resources Command (HRC). The successful candidate will plan and manage the installation, configuration and tuning of SAN and storage hardware and software including replication and DR appliances according to best practices, while ensuring high levels of data quality and availability for all enterprise and internal customers in an mission critical 24 x7 Enterprise Storage systems environment including but not limited to HP, Hitachi, EMC, NetApp, and 3Par SAN Storage devices in a UNIX and Windows, and VMWare environments.
- Provide highly complex day-to-day technical support that includes investigating and resolving SAN systems-related matters; and ongoing maintenance, support, troubleshooting and management of Hitachi and HP storage provisioning.
- Provide support telephonically and/or electronically including participation in "on-call" SAN support rotation.
- Implement, and oversee policies and procedures to ensure consistent storage provisioning, uptime, regulatory compliance and data protection.
- Responsible for maintenance of storage services according to statements of work from management.
- Configuring and installing SAN switches and storage hardware. Perform software upgrades on switches and storage devices.
- Provide performance analysis, disaster recovery plans, and lead efforts towards storage consolidation, identify storage growth, manage configuration of storage media and storage management software.
- Maintain current knowledge of storage-related trends and issues including current and emerging technologies and best practices.
- Ensure IT adherence to service level agreements regarding storage allocations, limitations, and availability.
- Monitor use and availability of storage resources.
- Generate reports and analysis on storage usage.
- Other duties include storage project management, creating and maintaining detail technical documentation and standards, monitoring SAN infrastructure, capacity planning, evaluate emerging SAN technologies, support and maintenance of peripheral systems.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

- Bachelor of Science (BS) in related or equivalent technical field plus six (6) years of experience (6 additional years substitute the B.S.). Technical Certifications can be substituted for years of experience.
- Vendor CERTS for EMC, Hitachi, HP, NetApp, Brocade or Cisco are a plus.
- Security+ Certification required to starting work on Task Order.
- Must possess a minimum of an Interim Secret to start work on this Task Order.
- Five plus (5+) years of experience plan, design, configuration and support of large enterprise SAN's environments.
- Three plus (3+) years of experience with HP, EMC and Hitachi SAN Storage.
- Three plus (3+) years of experience performing capacity planning, performance analysis, and development of data disaster recovery plans.
- Able to communicate clearly with peers as well as management.
- Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups.
- Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules and priorities.
- The ability to socialize ideas, make recommendations and gather team consensus to move forward.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organized and detailed documentation skills.
