Business Title Electrical Engineer Location

MD-Columbia Division Govt Federal SE Primary Purpose Functions as a technical specialist or in a lead role. With minimal supervision, applies advanced engineering techniques and analyses for problems and methods. Expands knowledge and skill set in area of discipline. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Functions in a mid-level engineer capacity. Under general supervision, performs all aspects of conventional design engineering and analysis.

Prepares a variety of moderately complex engineering deliverables. Performs research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection. Prepares complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles. Understands and adheres to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.

Develops electrical systems designs for facilities and utilities. Designs include unique, one-of-a-kind systems in locations around the world. Electrical systems include building and site power distribution systems, lighting, grounding, lightning protection, control systems, security systems, and communication systems. Design tasks include writing design and construction specifications and developing design drawings.

Assigns tasks to and coordinates with other internal/external team members on moderately complex projects. Initiates contact with other disciplines as needed to identify and coordinate details of the work. Actively seeks to understand client interests and drivers through normal client contact and through interaction and communication with project leadership. Supports business development or pursuit activities.
Minimum Qualifications *Bachelor's degree from a college or university with an accredited electrical engineering program (BSEE)
*Minimum of 5 years related work experience
*Ability to obtain a US Government Security clearance
*Professional Engineering license
*Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to the electrical engineering discipline
*Working knowledge of industry and technology trends
*Working knowledge of construction & construct-ability practices & principles
*Working knowledge of technical aspects of the proposal process
Preferred Job Qualifications *Experience performing fault analysis, load analysis, and relay coordination using ETAP or SKM
*Intermediate knowledge of Revit MEP or Bentley BIM software
*LEED AP
*RCDD
