Positions in this function are technical roles that develop and support marketing/product systems and information. Employees in this role will analyze Business/Product needs, develop solutions, and support testing of Product/Software solutions. The SQL Database Programmer will be responsible for creating SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2012 databases and writing SQL code.


 


Responsibilities



  • Create queries on large data sets

  • Create stored procedures, functions and triggers as needed

  • Extract, transform and load data via Import/Export wizards and SSIS

  • Tune queries to obtain maximum performance where necessary

  • Develop tables, indexes, constraints

  • Optimize database code by analyzing query execution plans

  • Be able to work with internal business teams

  • Research new ways to improve existing functionality

  • Commit to continuous improvement in methodologies as applied to database design and development

  • Discharge other projects and tasks as directed by supervisor

  • Must have excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills

  • Thorough understanding of database modeling. Data Analysis experience required.

  • Must have strong organizational skills. Must have ability to multi-task

  • Must be self-starter and willing to work long hours if required

  • Focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting abilities

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment

  • Provide accurate and timely estimates for tasks

  • Provide support and leadership in critical production support issue resolution

  • Conduct or facilitate root cause analysis on all in-scope incidents and recommend a corrective action plan

  • Work with team to achieve timely resolution of all production issues meeting or exceeding Service Level Agreements

  • Develops innovative approaches

  • Strong analytical abilities and problem solving and a dedication to high quality code

  • Candidates should have great communication skills, be team oriented, and process oriented

 


 

Requirements

Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • 3 or more years of SQL Server database development including query optimization, performance tuning and index utilization

  • 3 or more years with T-SQL; writing complex queries, stored procedures and functions

Assets:



  • Familiarity of Microsoft products such as Excel, MS Access and Word

  • Healthcare experience is a plus

  • Data migration (SSIS)
