We are seeking world-class talent looking to build a career with one of the world's largest home improvement retailers, operating more than 2,200 store locations in the U.S, Canada and Mexico. Specifically, your role falls within the Pro/Tool Rental area of IT, encompassing applications and processes that support how The Home Depot interacts with our customers, such as contractors and remodelers. The Home Depot offers a range of tools to these customers. You will be exposed to the latest technologies running at large, enterprise scale. You will work with business partners to understand our strategic Pro or Tool Rental initiatives.
The Developer II must be able to work in a project teams using Agile methodology. The Developer must have and be able to promote an appropriate sense of urgency in regard to deliverables, and be able to effectively partner with the team and the business to develop and deliver IT solutions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS-
-Key hands on functional and technical skills:

•Java development with focus on web development (JSP, Servlet, JMS, JSON)
•Understanding of standard web frameworks and languages (HTML5, CSS, JQuery, AJAX, Angular, Cordova)
•Knowledge of standard web service development frameworks and methodologies (DAO, RESTFul, SSL)
•Knolwedge in Agile/XP methodologies is a plus
•Ability and desire to learn new technologies
•Skilled at building positive relationships with team members and matrix teams

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -
  • Take business requirements and develop the total technical design for assigned mid-sized projects and ensure proper usage as part of the design efforts in building a system to be put into production.
  • Follow the established processes, policies, standards and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and standards.
  • Conduct appropriate test reviews on assigned projects as necessary. Present findings and offer solutions to management.

NATURE AND SCOPE -
  • Typically reports to Manager, Information Technology
  • No direct responsibility for supervising others.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must pass the Drug Test.
  • Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.

EDUCATION REQUIRED -

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
