Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic (Technician) III is responsible for performing preventative, routine and extraordinary repair maintenance on battery changer, rolling equipment, conveyor, mechanical systems, PLC systems, plumbing, electrical systems and facilities maintenance to include both interior and exterior as needed or/and per maintenance supervisor direction. This is a 2nd shift position and the hours are 3.00pm - 11.00pm.

Scope
  • Determine or trouble shoot extent of repairs needed and conducts research or requests additional resources from peers or maintenance supervisor or facility maintenance manager for any problems beyond area of knowledge or expertise.
  • Perform routine and extraordinary repairs on electrical, (AC/DC), mechanical, pneumatic, rolling stock equipment, light bulbs, fire prevention system and hydraulic repairs or installations.
  • Perform, plan and implement routine preventative maintenance on electrical, (AC/DC), mechanical, pneumatic, rolling stock equipment, fire prevention and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform routine building maintenance such as painting walls, repair roof leaks, plumbing, repair door locks and other building related maintenance.
  • Set up offices and assist with hanging fixtures, etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness of plant, rolling equipment, machinery and maintenance areas.
  • Follow detailed instructions from maintenance supervisor or manager.
  • Maintain work order, preventative maintenance and inventory tracking systems via spreadsheets, data bases or maintenance software.
  • Complete other special projects or duties as assigned.
  • Provide training or mentorship to maintenance technicians level I and II as needed or requested.


Education Requirements
  • Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent and certifications in most major component of Distribution Center (DC) plant maintenance and some technical/college classes.
  • Preferred: Maintenance certifications in most or all component of DC plant maintenance and college/technical degree in Electronics, Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical or Industrial Maintenance from an accredited institution.


Experience
  • Minimum: 3 years DC experience as a maintenance technician level II.
  • Preferred: 5 years industrial plant maintenance technician experience comparable to level III.


Other Skills
  • Troubleshoot and repair 110V, 277V & 480V, AC and DC circuits, PM conveyor and rolling equipment, repair and/or replace faulty conveyor components, adjust belt tension, square belting, track belting, replace lacing and set up conveyor beds, setting up and troubleshooting photo-eyes, troubleshooting using a multimeter, forklift diagnostic handset use, tune in new forklift components, MIG and ARC welding, electronic and electrical soldering, fabrication in metal and wood, Intermediate hand and power tool knowledge, power shop equipment, Basic building maintenance and repairs, Drill, Tap, die cut threads and remove broken bolts, plumbing, painting, analytical and problem solving skills, follow all safety company policies and procedures. Able to operate and trained on all arial equipment, such as boom lift and scissor lift.
