Stonington Institute began serving recovering alcoholics in 1957 as Starlight Farms, a working farm where adults in recovery were introduced to the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous. Today, we are the longest continually operating, free-standing, voluntary treatment facility in New England. Our main campus is located in North Stonington, CT, in its original private and peaceful rural setting. We have additional clinical sites in Groton, CT. Transportation and off-campus housing assistance make our programs and services accessible to a statewide clientele. Those programs include: medical detoxification, rehabilitation/residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient treatment (both day and evening) and ambulatory detoxification, as well as residential addictions treatment for active duty and retired military servicemembers. The Institute accepts private insurance, state-funded plans and self pay arrangements.
During first or second shifts, the Residential Aide ensurce military clients attend scheduled groups, accompanies clients to meals and recreation activities on-campus, and documents client activities at defined intervals. May transport clients off-campus. During third shift, the Aide conducts bed checks at defined intervals and documents same, performs miscellaneous clerical and/or housekeeping functions, and ensures the campus is safe and secure.

High school diploma or GED. Successful candidates are responsible, reliable individuals with valid drivers' license and clean driving record. Ideal candidates possess public service license. Prior military experience is helpful.
