An immediate opportunity exists for a candidate with solid experience leading successful infrastructure projects specializing in large scale data center environments, to join our team. Due to an unprecedented period of growth, we have a LONG-TERM-CONTRACT opportunity in the HERNDON, VA area for an ENGAGEMENT PROJECT MANAGER.

Role/Responsibilities:

The selected resource will work with internal teams and resources to complete the following:

  • Provide hands-on project management to lead a team responsible for delivering data center services for external clients. Projects may include hardware, networking and software up-grades, maintenance, relocations and virtualization
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for hands-on resource management, testing, documentation and project reporting.
  • Serve as Lead and main point of contact responsible for coordinating efforts across teams, including client resources and business units to ensure adequate resources are available for issue resolution
  • Work within internal team, including vendors and consultants to develop and implement best practices for all solutions
  • Track progress on all issues through end resolution

Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree in Information Technology; Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years leading infrastructure projects including server environment development and operations. Hands-on experience working with professional services organizations, service delivery and client engagement management strongly desired.
  • 2+ years' experience specializing in project delivery and/or engagement management REQUIRED
  • 2+ years' experience specializing in network and data center optimization required.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in applying standard project management methodologies.
  • PMP certification is REQUIRED; ITIL certification desired
  • Proven experience working successfully with vendors and external clients
  • Proven experience developing a positive working relationship with peers and management and working with diverse business and technical user groups
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience managing MS Project scheduling
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical skills
  • Experience working within large-scale data center environments required.
