Parallon Supply Chain a division of HCA located in Shawnee, KS is searching for a Division Director of Oncology for its Pharmacy division. This individual is responsible for oversight and management of a chemotherapy stewardship program at all HCA facilities within the Mid-America division. This position would report to the Division Director of Pharmacy and supervise the oncology pharmacists in the clinic/facilities.
* Minimum 12 months experience in an oncology setting with three to five years of experience as a clinical pharmacist in a hospital setting.
* Develops key performance indicators and dashboards related to chemotherapy and adjuvant therapy utilization and stewardship.
* Ensures appropriate and safe use of pharmacy technology related to chemotherapy including automated dispensing technology, IV pumps and maximizing order entry system efficiency.
* Maintains effective communication with facility directors and leadership teams on chemotherapy stewardship opportunities.
* Works with patient accounting and finance to determine if payment levels cover our costs for drugs. Alert Division and facility leadership when it does not.
* Assists in development of evidence based "best practice" recommendations for all areas of chemotherapy management.
* Communicates with intake coordinators and finance departments to ensure proper prior approval criteria are understood and that prior authorizations have been obtained when needed, while ensuring that patient assistance programs are being maximally utilized
