Department Assistant / Medical Surgical
I. Position Summary:
Provides Department Assistance/clerical support to the Department Director/Manager. Interacts with physicians, hospital directors, managers, other hospital executives, and department staff. Facilitates the completion of department assignments.
II. Position Requirements:
A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: N/A.
B. Education: High School Diploma
C. Experience: Three (3) years technical , clerical experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
D. Special qualifications: Knowledge of office procedures and equipment. Must have a basic knowledge of the principles of accounting with basic arithmetic skills of multiplication, division and percentages. Good basic communication skills in spelling, grammar and punctuation. Will need good interpersonal skills for interaction with employees, clients and customers. Computer literate with some spreadsheet knowledge.
