Description:
POSITION SUMMARY (Emergency
Room Transporter) -- Under the general supervision of the Director and Manager
of the Emergency Room and under the Transportation Supervisor, the Transporter
is responsible for transporting patients to and from the Emergency Room safely,
comfortably, and efficiently. Utilizes various equipment for different
transport modes, is knowledgeable of safety precautions in transporting patients.
Understands and follows the written and verbal instructions regarding patient
information. Manages moving of patient support devices such as IVAC pumps,
oxygen, etc. and maintains integrity of the above as well as all lines, leads,
etc. attached to the patient. Employee acts as a representative of the
department in all communications and actions with the patients, their families,
nurses and physicians. Position requires exertion in pushing, pulling and
transfer of patients for long periods, with proper body mechanics. Must follow
and adhere to all federal and state laws and regulations, as well as the HCA
Code of Conduct and WHMC Performance Standards.
KNOWLEDGE
AND SKILLS
Must have exceptional communication and patient care
skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills and problem solving ability.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma
LICENSURE AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
