3M is seeking a Winder Machine Operator for the Electrical Markets Division located in Haverhill, MA. Ready to be part of what's next?
Job Summary :
The person hired for the position of Winder Operator will assist the Line Leader in daily set ups, monitor and clean cards to prevent breakdowns, calender grinds, and in-line product inspection.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Reads work instructions, schedules, or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances
- Prepares doffer and cards for processing fiber
- Checks operation lights and makes necessary adjustments to chutes
- Cleans doffer and card areas continuously using proper and established PPE
- Insures product is of sufficient width to produce customer required slit width (ensuring roll is also hard) specifications at slitter
- Coordinates with Line Leader 100% product inspection & flagging of all defects appropriately so they can be removed in slitting process
- All written and computer entries for material issue and finished goods produced are completed real-time and self-monitored for accuracy on a job and/or daily basis
- Observes for clogs in chutes and corrects accordingly
- Follows all safety rules and regulations
- Ability to obtain PIV license
This position will require:
- Working overtime
- Working four ten-hour shifts (Monday through Thursday)
This position may require:
- Weekend work
- Working on holidays as needed
Basic Qualifications:
- Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher
- Minimum one (1) month of experience in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum one year of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience operating a fork truck
Location: Haverhill, MA
Relocation: Is not authorized
