3M is seeking a Production Line Coordinator for the Display Materials and Systems Division of Electronics and Energy Business Group located in Methuen, MA. Ready to be part of what's next?

Job Summary :

The person hired for the position of Production Line Coordinator is a working lead role in which the employee performs operation sequence job tasks, and also assists the Crew Leader to ensure production, quality and safety goals are met.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Perform all op sequence job tasks in area and cross train into other areas, to include basic troubleshooting of equipment, set ups, process flow, etc.

- Ensure employees in work area are following all procedures (work, quality, safety, etc)

- Assign employees to work tasks to maximize production objectives to ensure uninterrupted and efficient workflow in support of production schedules. Ensure employees in work area are following the job rotation schedule

- Prepare and present reports, key issues, and area information for team and or management. Conduct crew meetings regularly with the team

- Communicate pertinent information to all line personnel ensuring everyone is knowledgeable about the day's activities

- Ensure that all manufacturing documentation such as forms, database information, checklists etc. are completed and updated accurately and timely

- Participate with other Line Coordinators to encourage and maintain a strong manufacturing team environment that is both efficient and effective

- Work with Crew Leader and Trainer to ensure that any changes such as new or revised procedures or temporary deviations are communicated and implemented in the work area

- Coordinate the start of production runs ensuring correct documents and materials are ready and machines are properly set up

- Assist Crew Leader in watching process flow recommending and implementing solutions to eliminate process bottlenecks, etc.

- Assist the Crew Leader and/or Supervisor with performance reviews and escalate performance or behavior issues in a timely manner

- Support and implement process improvements as necessary. Communicate ideas for improving the manufacturing process to the Crew Leader, Supervisor or Engineer

- Must be able to identify problems within the production area and develop and make recommendations for alternative solutions to be reviewed with the Crew Leader, and/or Supervisor for approval prior to implementation

- Any questions or issues that fall outside of the existing policies and procedures must be discussed with the Crew Leader, Supervisor or management

- Maintain an environment where each individual is valued and respected. Encourage diversity and the sharing of ideas

- Champion your team and area to create a positive, continuous improvement work environment

- Understand and comply with OSHA and ISO 9001 standards and procedures

- Employee will handle and manage hazardous waste in compliance with Department of Environmental Protection and Environmental Protection Agency regulations, 310 CMR 30 and 40 CFR 262, respectively. Employee is required to attend initial and annual refresher hazardous waste management training as described in the 3M Touch System's written training program

- Apply safe work methods when performing the job requirements in hazardous and non-hazardous environments so as to avoid personal injury, injury to co-workers or damage to company property. Report unsafe work conditions or equipment operation to supervision immediately. Observe 3M Safety Rules, 3M Guide to Conduct department work and safety rules

This position will require:

- Working overtime

- Weekend work

- Successful passing of vision exam required

Basic Qualifications:

- Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher

- Minimum one (1) year of warehouse or manufacturing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

- Computer systems knowledge to include MS Office, Minitab, Agile, and Baan

- Lean, 5S, and Six Sigma Experience

- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Must be able to read, write legibly, understand and communicate effectively in English

- Basic mathematical and computer skills

- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with other members of the team and across the organization
