Experis Engineering has partnered with a large and successful Central Minnesota manufacturing company to fill an Industrial Engineer role. The primary function of the Industrial Engineer is to improve manufacturing efficiencies through the effective use of a project management mindset.

Principal Accountabilities

Project Management of IE and Quality related projects
Capital Equipment Purchases are properly studied and justified
Design, Development, and Maintenance of Tooling and Fixturing both in house and outsourced
Creation and maintenance of lean Plant Layouts
Communication between product engineering and production
Time Studies are planned and conducted as appropriate for accurate product costing
Customer Satisfaction through an effective Quality System
Development and Maintenance of meaningful Quality Measurements

Primary Tasks

Identify areas of manufacturing process improvements
Develop proposals for changes in the manufacturing process which includes cost analysis and justifications
Present proposals to management and coordinate the project from beginning to end
Be involved in the purchasing of new equipment to be able to give the process perspective
Evaluate new technology and recommend equipment that will improve manufacturing processes and/or reduce costs
Design and /or procure tooling and fixtures to support the manufacturing needs and processes
Develop and maintain necessary tool and fixturing control procedures
Work with the Production Managers to establish layout drawings for the most efficient manufacturing processes
Be familiar with shop capabilities and communicate to engineering so we are designing our equipment in a manner that can be most efficiently manufactured


Qualifications
Strong organizational skills
Ability to build strong relationships and lead through influence
Ability to work with others and demonstrate good oral and written communication including the ability to present effective presentations
Excellent computer skills
