About this job

Responsible for managing patient inquiry calls regarding their accounts and responsible for researching/resolving issues and/or concerns patients may have with their accounts.

Essential Functions:

  • Answers telephone and email correspondence from patients and clients and resolves questions relating to claim status, payment status and insurance explanation of benefits.
  • Ensure accuracy of data input generated from calls.

Education: HS Diploma or GED required.

Experience: At least two years customer service experience handling medical telephone calls. Knowledge of medical billing practices and experience as a medical office assistant highly desirable.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills required. Excellent telephone etiquette required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • High level of skill in entering data into computer while talking with patients.
  • Knowledge of computer programs.
  • Knowledge of business office procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic third-party operating procedures and practices.
