About this job
American Airlines is seeking candidates for Travel Center for Part-Time employment. The Travel Center office is located at 360 Lexington Avenue New York, NY 10017
Comprehensive Benefit Package provided and airline travel privileges at an hourly rate of $10.33 USD.
Serves customers in a caring, efficient, and diplomatic manner. Promotes and sells air travel with American Airlines. Prepares itineraries, computes fares, issues refunds, and prepares and issues tickets. Answers inquiries regarding general travel information. Resolves customer problems in a mutually beneficial manner. Stocks ticket counters and storage areas. Changes stock in automated printers. Communicates with customers over the telephone when researching passenger complaints, advising of canceled or delayed flights, etc. Represents office at various meetings, as required.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age
High school diploma or GED required
May be required to lift up to 70 lbs.
Ability to work rotating shifts and days off
Fluency in specific foreign language - International origin - may be required
Public contact experience required
Meet height and weight requirement/profile (refer to passenger service manual)
Satisfactory completion of written test
Ability to accept ownership, responsibility, and accountability of functional obligations
Exhibit patience and diplomacy
Communicate effectively with all levels of management
Satisfactory attendance
Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy are mandatory
Must report to work on a regular and timely basis
Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
