About this job
This individual is responsible for and has the authority to assemble oilfield chokes and related equipment. Tests chokes and similar products to detect and locate leaks and/or product defects. Receive, store, and distribute material, tools, equipment, and products within facility. Keeps working areas in shop and warehouse in clean and orderly condition.
Job Responsibilities:
· Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled.
· Fastens parts together with bolts, studs, screws, or other fasteners.
· Operates drill presses and torque wrenches to assist in assembly operation.
· Disassembles chokes and other related equipment for disposition of parts.
· Installs fittings on parts to seal outlets and connect product to high pressure air or water line.
· Activates air-compressors or water pump until gauge registers specified internal pressure requirements.
· Observes gauges for loss of pressure indicative of leaks and examines part for escaping air or water to detect leaks.
· Test product under high pressure to ensure compliance with product safety ratings.
· Observes and follows all company health, safety and environmental policies, rules and regulations.
· Transports raw materials and semi-finished products or supplies between shop areas.
· Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
· Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
· Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station.
· Marks materials with identifying information.
· Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
· Arranges boxes, material or other industrial equipment in neat and orderly manner.
· Operates forklift to transport materials within warehouse.
· Conducts weekly forklift inspections per safety procedures.
· Cleans and prepares parts and equipment per supervisor’s instructions.
· Keeps warehouse building, warehouse, production and shop floors clean and orderly.
· Other duties may be assigned.
Job Requirements:
· High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· A familiarity with a variety of oil and gas industry field concepts, practices and procedures preferred.
· Must successfully pass pre-and postemployment drug and alcohol tests per company policy.
· Valid Texas Driver’s License with clean record.
Skills and Abilities:
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, travelers, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
· Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
· Ability to use a variety of pressure testing and measuring equipment.
· Ability to understand LFA products, raw materials, bill of material, engineering drawings and work procedures, instruction manuals and reports, customer and product terminology.
· Ability to understand customer requirements, quality demands, shipping schedules and product quality details at all stages of production.
· Able to identify and solve problems, manage multiple priorities and multi-task.
· Relies on experience and judgment to accomplish objectives.
· Follows instructions, responds to management direction.
· Ability to demonstrate initiative and assertiveness.
· Ability to plan and manage work in an efficient manner.
· Ability to work well under stress and time pressures.
· Good interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written.

· Able to manage multiple priorities, multi-task, with good organizational and time management skill.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word required.
