Maintenance Engineer, Plant Operations - Part time, Eves/Wkends Rotate - Full-time / Part-time

The maintenance tech makes complete inspection of boiler and the plant upon starting his/her shift. Makes any necessary repairs to faucets, drains, toilets, etc. Is available for all incoming phone calls and responds to them.

Accountable for adhering to ORMC mission, including meeting behavioral expectations (compassion, caring and confidentiality), providing excellence in health care delivery, supporting dignity of all persons (empowerment) and responsible stewardship of resources.

Makes complete inspection of boilers and plant upon beginning his/her shift as applicable.

Makes any necessary repairs that may become necessary throughout the hospital.

Periodically checks water level, steam pressure and performance of the boiler and other mechanical equipment in the facility.

Is responsible for mechanical room operation during his/her shift.

Is responsible for repair and preventative maintenance of various mechanical and electrical equipment such as water pumps, drinking fountains, stretchers, refrigerators, etc.

Must be available near a telephone to accept emergency calls. Must respond to those call immediately.

Performs occasional security duties as required.

Is responsible for various safety tests of hospital systems.

Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

5 years related experience.

2 years technical training or equivalent experience required.

Must read blueprints.

Familiar with local building and fire codes.
