The Lead, Patient Service Center Representative assists in overseeing the day to day operations of the team, including registration, scheduling activities, billing/claims inquiries, My Health Online support, and general questions. The Lead is responsible for not only day to day activities, but is a resource for staff, handling escalated issues and interacting with patients and physicians effectively. They also assist in training staff and prioritizing unit workflow. The incumbent must possess exceptional public relations/customer service skills. This position will be an estimated 80% production, requiring patient and provider call support.

The ideal candidate for this role is one who enjoys a fast-paced, team-oriented, and goal driven work environment. You must be a strong communicator, respectful and professional in your telephone demeanor, and be an attentive listener in order to resolve customer issues effectively and efficiently.

AA or BA degree in communication, business or healthcare administration, or liberal arts OR equivalent coursework and/or work experience in a service industry .

Minimum of 4 years in a customer service business office setting, preferably in a medical specialty practice, with directly transferable skills .

Preferred experience/skills:

Experience leading team activities or projects .

Technical Certificate in medical billing/coding, Medical Assisting, and/or medical terminology.

Must have demonstrated ability to work in a highly complex environment, able to communicate with clients (including patients, clinicians and physicians) effectively

Demonstrated ability to remain professional, even when working through difficult situations

Demonstrated ability to effectively research and resolve issues, including patient financial accounts, scheduling and registration

Establishes a pleasant environment by using a pleasant tone of voice and maintaining composure at all times.
