Position Summary:

Provide accurate, efficient and timely accounting information to manufacturing divisions, procurement, and vendors. Coordinate the daily workflow of the payables department to eliminate the risk of service interruptions to any of our manufacturing divisions. Essential Job Functions:

• Coordinate daily work of department to maintain current payment status.
• Provide answers and assistance to associates in the processing of vendor payments
• Review and process invoices for Manufacturing Payables
• Provide timely and accurate information to external and internal customers
• Research vendor issues and assist with the resolution
• Handle department manuals and ongoing maintenance
• Assist with approval of Journal entries
• Assist with approval of Vendor Setups, Local Checks and payment exceptions
• Review and maintain department coverage daily
• Assist manager with audit requests from internal and external auditors
• Prepare account reconciliation and documentation in accordance with company accounting policies
• Assist associates with preparation of account reconciliation and documentation
• Participate in new hire interviews with the manager
• Train associates on new and existing department procedures
• Train new associates on daily job responsibilities
• Complete special projects as assigned

Minimum Position/Education Qualifications:

• Business Objects, Microsoft Word and Excel Skills
• Have a broad knowledge of accounting best practices and the Kroger Accounting System
• Detail oriented and accurate on a consistent basis
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Self-starting team motivator with a positive attitude
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Organized and able to prioritize in order to meet deadlines
