This posting is for a Customer Service Representative (CSR) position with an ARCO/ampm MiniMarket branded Franchise location. A minimum of 30 hours/week is required for this position with 40 hours/week possible.
* Morning shifts are from: 6:30am - 2:30pm
* Afternoon (swing) shifts are from: 2pm - 10pm
* Night (graveyard) shifts are from: 9pm - 7am
Applicant must be capable of working night (graveyard) shifts and/or weekend shifts. Specific shift needs will be determined at interview. From time to time, applicant must be willing to cover open shifts on short notice if they become available.
Compensation starts at $10/hour and caps at $15/hour, dependent on experience and work ethic. Applicants with retail experience greater than 1 year are preferred!
Benefits include one week paid sick leave (after six months of employment) and a Simple IRA retirement plan with employer matching at 3% (offered between 6-12 months). Hot prepared food items, fountain drinks and coffee are provided to employees at no charge during the course of their shift for personal consumption.
CSR's duties include, but are not limited to:
* Providing fast and friendly service! Customers at ARCO/ampm expect courteous, helpful attention and an expedient buying experience. Applicants with a cheery, can-do attitude are desired. The goal of our CSR is to prove that customers are always #1! Bilingual English and Spanish-speaking applicants are desired, but not required.
* Stocking and Merchandising. CSR will be required to do cooler work (stocking cases of beverages) and stocking/merchandising of grocery items. Must be able to lift unassisted no more than 5 gallons of liquid weight (approximately 42lbs). CSR must also maintain accurate price tags on shelving and front-facing of products on the sales floor.
* Cooking. CSR must have valid Washington State Food Handler's card (obtainable online for $10 at https://www.foodworkercard.wa.gov) and may be required to cook pre-made food items, code date refrigerated and unrefrigerated food items, brew coffee and perform miscellaneous food-related tasks. CSR will be required to use disposable gloves for all food related tasks.
* Cleaning. CSR will be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly appearance on the sales floor, exterior of the building and public restroom. Basic cleaning duties entail: wiping down counters, cleaning exterior of fuel dispensers at the island, maintaining dispensing equipment at the fountain, food and coffee bars, sweeping interior floors, public restroom and exterior parking lot, mopping interior floors and restroom, cleaning exterior and interior windows/glass and taking out interior/exterior garbage. Exposure to household cleaning products (bleach, glass cleaner, de-greaser) will be part of normal duties. ARCO/ampm does not use any heavy chemicals!
* Cashiering. CSR will be handling cash at the register and will be responsible for maintaining a balanced cash register. CSR will be operating an electronic safe to make cash deposits. Basic mathematical skills are required (adding, subtracting).
