Employee Relations Specialist needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in San Mateo, CA.

Industry: Employee Relations, OD and learning and development experience and a clear understanding of business needs.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration / human resources or related field; five (5) years of experience in human resources.
- At least one to two (1-2) years experience in a position of responsibility and accountability for employee relations and / or labor relations.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Supports client mitigating risk and maintaining consistent practices
- Enacts organizational changes to include reductions in force and ongoing restructuring
- Implements delivery of learning and development programs to include oversight of administration for programs, instructors, facilities and attendance
- Monitors program to continuously track satisfaction, applicability, impact and value of program
- Determines cost effective, innovative, and efficient methods for delivering training, the necessary support structures, and continuous improvement plans
- Assesses ongoing learning and development needs with respect to current and anticipated business and individual requirements.
- Defines specific objectives, outcomes and requirements for a growing learning and development plan.
- Educate, assist and coach employees and managers on complex employee relations issues.
- Recommend HR policies and procedures to maximize the efficiency and the compliance through the day to day HR practice and the observation.
- Conduct and document investigations (telephonic or on-site) into workplace complaints with interviews of employees, managers, or third-party personnel. Analyze notes to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations, and plans of action.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and summaries of findings for management.
- Ensure all company policies and procedures are up to date with current employment laws.
- Serve as one of the main contacts for employees to discuss workplace concerns and answer questions.
- Suggest alternate course of action if appropriate and prepare necessary documentation of action (memorandum of record, report, counseling or termination letter).

- Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to handle confidential information in a mature and professional manner.
- Highly analytical thinker and problem solver, proven attention to detail; extremely well organized.
- Acts with a sense of urgency, high quality judgment and sound decision making.
- Ability to multi task and manage multiple projects to closure.
- Must be able to build credibility and be a trusted resource to all.
