Position Summary: This position prepares and cooks food for hospital patients, visitors, physicians, and employees utilizing the daily meal requirements as well as other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Maintains cleanliness of food production area and equipment, assuring food service sanitation through established HACCP standards. Versatility to adapt to frequent changes in temperature. Preference for routine duties.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for utilizing recipes, production, and portion control when preparing food for hospital, visitor, patient, physician, and employee use.

Work ranges from medium to heavy when lifting, climbing, bending, pushing, and handling items weighing up to 100 pounds.

Most work is performed while standing or walking.

Maintains cleanliness of food production area and equipment.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: None.

Experience: Incumbent must have one year's experience in hospital, institutional, or restaurant cooking. Graduation from a technical school specializing in institutional cooking may be substituted if employee has no experience.

Special Qualifications: Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions.
