Position Purpose :
  • Drives consistent implementation of merchandising strategy for the organization by working directly with core merchandising and MET field. Serves as single point of contact for suppliers, merchants, SSC and field merchandising contacts to drive accountability on merchandising service levels in stores.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:
  • 25%- Expand supplier support: Create strong relationships with customers and establish expectations. Attract new suppliers to MET, negotiate for rate/service level, and onboard. Optimize MET funding level by supplier and department. Facilitate field walks with suppliers; Plan and implement supplier communications and events.
  • 25%-Expand services that MET provides: Develop new business opportunities (Assisted selling, Sales Specialists). Take on current activities performed by other suppliers (Board Service, Moulding).
  • 25%-Drive efficiency and effectiveness: Annual department planning to maximize project and general service resources.Drive process improvements in MET serviced areas (Two week holiday sets, ISES System, Replacement Parts).
  • 25%-Develop, communicate, and monitor general service guidelines and projects to ensure field teams are executing activities required for merchants and suppliers. Create and maintain general service guidelines and general service hours. Nature and Scope: Position Reports to DIR Merch Supplier Services No direct reports.
Environmental Job Requirements :
  • Environment: Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Travel: Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
Standard Minimum Qualifications :
  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must pass the Drug Test.
  • Must pass Background Check.
  • Must pass pre-employment test if applicable.
Education Required:
  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Work Experience Required : 8
Physical Requirements :
  • Most of the time is spent sitting or standing in the same location or there may be a need to stoop regularly or move/lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds).
Preferred Qualifications :
  • Leadership experience in retail industry
  • Previous experience managing supplier performance
  • Merchandising services organization (MSO) experience
