Position Summary:

This position works closely with the business users, including stores, to resolve their daily application issues. Troubleshoots and develops technical solutions related to software, environmental, configuration and setup errors. Creates workaround procedures when standard procedures have failed and ensures issues are resolved in a timely fashion. Escalates urgent problems requiring more in-depth knowledge to appropriate internal development resources. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a support organization.

This person should have at least 5 year’s experience in a lead service desk/help desk position. The CSS III will work on projects within our IT department ranging from new software and systems implementation and testing to prioritizing tickets and supervising agents. Those who apply must have excellent leadership and customer service skill. Position requires close attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Holiday, Weekends, and On-call coverage required. Due to the nature of the retail environment, occasionally project work must occur in the overnight hours (1AM – 7AM).

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in projects within our IT department ranging from new software and systems implementation to new hardware installations


  1. Triaging, troubleshooting, escalating and resolving software issues at the application and database level. Working closely with stores to understand their issues and develop solutions.


  1. Maintain, review, and approve knowledge base documentation


  1. Provide status of open incidents, problems, performance reports and operational analysis
  2. Provide on-call support 24x7
  3. Perform periodic store visits to review store procedures and performance of software and systems
  4. Build up team through mentorship, training, and process improvement.



Education and Qualifications:

Education:
• College education
• Equivalent vocational competence development in the IT sector

Licenses/Certification/Registration:

Experience:
• At least 5 years IT/support required

Skills and Abilities:
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Team Building
• Problem Solver, maintaining composure in stressful situations
• Self-Starter
• Intermediate Linux experience
• Experienced in Windows support
• Strong leadership qualities
• Microsoft office 2003, 2007 support
• Experienced in basic networking protocols and related troubleshooting utilities
• Experience troubleshooting hardware – pc’s, printers
• Experience with POS hardware and software (a plus)
• Strong knowledge in SQL scripting
• Retail Oracle Applications support (a plus)
• A+ certifications and Microsoft certifications (MCP, MCDST, etc) are a plus
• Knowledge of ITIL best practices (a plus)

Physical Requirements:
• Required to sit 90% of work day
• Local travel between corporate locations and local stores
• Required to be on-call 24x7
