Havenwyck Hospital is a 235 bed, Joint Commission accredited and licensed psychiatric and substance abuse facility overlooking Lake Galloway in Auburn Hills, Mich. We specialize in providing behavioral health and substance abuse services to children, adolescents, and adults. Havenwyck Hospital has an excellent career opportunity for a HIM Assembly/Analysis Technician to join our team. The HIM Assembly/Analysis Technician assembles discharge patient records and performs qualitative and quantitative retrospective review of all inpatient, residential and Day Hospital medical records. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Completes daily check in of medical records. Pulls previous admission charts and forwards to nursing units. Creates folder for each record each discharge, using terminal digits and discharge date. Assembles medical records in correct order, verifying proper I.D., and filing loose paperwork. Analyzes records according to department policy regarding medical record documentation, ensuring valid authentication by all physicians. Flags charts requiring aftercare faxing prior to five (5) days post discharge. Inputs deficiency status into the incomplete record processing file of the current data system, prints and files deficiency sheet and forwards to coding. Understands the need for and maintains appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with patients, families, visitors, employees, and all other contacts. Exhibits excellent service excellence skills as evidenced by supportive and constructive communication with all contacts including coworkers, patients, visitors, families, and referral sources.

High school diploma required. Registered Health Information Technician, RHIT-eligible, or student enrolled in a Medical Record Technician program preferred. Two years of office/clerical experience in a health care setting required. Excellent grammar and composition skills. Employees must be in good standing (employment/corrective action history, performance evaluations, etc.) to be considered for internal transfers.
