As part of our application support team, you will predominantly be involved in building business solutions by supporting and modifying new and existing software applications. You'll stretch your skills and grow your careers as a primary contributor in designing, building, testing, integrating, documenting and supporting all types of applications consistent with the established specifications and business requirements in order to deliver business value.




This position is responsible for support of the production environments including tracking and implementing releases into different stages of the environments. Monitors overall production batch operations.  Also assists in integrating various third party systems into the environment and assist with testing these applications.






Primary Responsibilities:



  • In-depth working knowledge of distributive systems, database management and application server operation

  • Acts as principal technical/administrative resource in administration of the Facets environment

  • Advanced performance and tuning

  • Work with developers and testers for troubleshooting any application related issues environments 

  • Provide off hours support

  • Researches and evaluates alternatives and recommends solutions for system design.

  • Test duties as analyst, without direction

  • Support problem resolution; consult and advise on application design and tuning; plan, organize and execute product benchmarks for threshold and functionality

  • Provide support for the development and maintenance of stage, test, and development environments for distributed applications

  • Operates with minimal supervision across multiple environments and platforms

  • Confers with appropriate managers/application groups regarding problems with and capabilities of Facets environments

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • 5+ years related IT administration experience including control and development of standards

  • Well versed with windows concepts, performance tuning, maintenance, and deployment of applications

  • 3+ years of experience working in a claims platform environment

  • 2+ years of experience directing cross-functional and/or cross-segment teams

  • Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences

 


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Undergraduate degree in applicable area of expertise or equivalent experience

  • Experience working in a lead position or supervisory role

  • Experience working with the Facets system

  • Skill and experience of UNIX platform

  • Healthcare industry knowledge

 



As a requirement of UnitedHealth Group's contract with the Department of Defense, this position requires U.S. citizenship and proof of favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense , (the National Agency Check Legal and Credit or NACLC). Successful completion of the NACLC process is a requirement for continued employment in this role. NACLC processing will be initiated by our TRICARE Security Officer post-offer, and can take 3-6 months for a final decision communication from the Department of Defense. Candidates will be allowed to begin employment with UnitedHealth Group in this role based on an interim clearance, and final results will be communicated as they are received. Failure to obtain final NACLC approval will result in termination from this role.
