  • We have an opening for a Part Time Food Svc Worker position.
  • Location:  800 NW Sixth Avenue Portland OR 97209 Note: online applications accepted only.
  • Schedule: Saturday and Sunday 9:30am to 5:00pm
  • Requirement: Oregon food handler's card preferred or able to obtain one; Counting, stocking, inventory; will train the right candidate

Summary: Prepares, presents and serves food as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Stores food in designated areas following dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
  • Cleans work areas, equipment
  • Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
  • Resolves customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor.
  • Ensures compliance with company service standards and inventory
  • Assures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
  • - Conducting daily inventories of stock that arrive on the trains and working with the train attendants to find any discrepancies in their paperwork.

    - Order picking to replenish depleted product on the trains.

    - Assist with processing orders, receiving and stocking and rotating product in the station commissary.

    - Assist in enforcing and maintaining a safe and sanitary working environment (Cleaning the floors, the refrigerators, checking food temperatures, etc) to be in compliance with state, federal and Amtrak health codes.

    - Very light clerical duties which include faxing, copying, printing and filing paperwork.

     

    Ideally, we’d like to find someone who is reliable, personable (as they will be working closely with many Amtrak employees), is a motivated self-starter, has an eye for detail, and excellent time management skills as they will need to be able to adjust priorities quickly when service disruptions arise. Prior food handling skills is a plus but not necessary but they will need to have an Oregon food handler’s card or be able to get one.
