The Architectural Coatings US & Canada Hyperion Essbase Administrator will be a member of the SBU’s Financial Planning and Analysis group. The role will be tasked with the administration, maintenance and continual improvement of the Hyperion Essbase and Hyperion Planning applications. The position will be responsible for leading the monthly closing and budgeting processes in these applications. The Architectural Coatings North America business unit sells decorative paint through home centers, independent dealers, and company owned stores.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer Hyperion Essbase, including: planning and reporting security, system tuning, backups and recovery, troubleshooting system issues

  • Perform month-end closing – data loads through FDM, aggregations, calculations, reconciliations

  • Manage annual budget process in Hyperion Planning

  • Maintain database outlines for all cubes using EPMA, Planning, Workspace, EAS

  • Adapt and optimize all applications for changes to business structure and strategy

  • Validate and reconcile system during implementations and upgrades

  • Weekend and off-hours work sometimes required, particularly around month-end closing

  • Ad-hoc financial analysis


Qualifications

Requirements:

Experience and Education:

  • The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business related field and more than (5) five years of related experience. Experience in Hyperion Essbase Administration, Financial Consolidations, Finance or Accounting is required.


Functional and Technical Skills:
  • Ability to develop and maintain Hyperion Essbase applications, data load rules, dimension build rules, calculation scripts, report scripts
  • Ability to create, maintain, and optimize Essbase outlines – manually and through MaxL scripts
  • Familiarity with Financial Reporting Studio
  • Knowledge of general ledger systems (predominantly SAP)
  • Ability to interface with users to quickly correct problems and develop solutions.
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
