Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation is a not for profit corporation that exists to provide medical services, research and education. The foundation provides the infrastructure for the delivery of physician services, and contracts with a separate corporation comprised of physicians and other care providers to deliver the clinical services. This multi-specialty foundation will provide a platform from which new physicians can be recruited to continue to provide physician services in a nonprofit, community setting. The Foundation's vision is to create a medical group that will deliver high quality, market competitive medical services.
The Medical Assistant/Patient Service Rep (PSR) will work with the physician to provide medical care to patients, of various ages, according to the policy of the individual practice and in accordance with nursing professional standards and medical foundation policies and procedures. Clinical duties may include: taking medical histories, recording vital signs and current medications, explaining treatment procedures to patients, preparing patients for examination, and assisting the physician during the examination. Provide patients with information regarding medication use and special diets; communicate and document prescription refills as directed to the appropriate pharmacy.
Experience and Education: Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities of front and back office would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience - Previous experience as a medical assistant in a physician office, hospital or similar experience preferred. Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required; Vocational or academic training to receive either Certified or Registered Medical Assistant designation is required.
